Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

also star this question just for the heck of it.
Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
The Rooster...then he took a nap.
Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
Fredric Cohen (1959 AD- ) pointed out that, had the egg come first, there would have been no chicken (hen) to lay it, sit on it and keep it warm, so a live chick would never have hatched from it. So the egg needs a chicken. The question now is where did that first chicken come from?

If only an egg that is laid by a chicken and that will hatch into a chicken can be considered a chicken egg: Then the first chicken came from a different type of egg (not a chicken egg) and laid the first chicken egg. In this case eggs (in general) came first, the chicken came after, and the chicken egg came last.
Reply:The chicken
Reply:The egg. Other species were laying eggs hundreds of millions of years before there were chickens. If you%26#039;re talking only about chicken eggs, the first was laid by a Red Junglefowl, the bird from which chickens were bred by farmers several thousand years ago. So the egg came first if you define %26#039;egg%26#039; as either any kind of egg or an egg which contained a chicken.

You could also define the egg as being an egg laid by a chicken (in which case the chicken obviously came first) but I don%26#039;t think that definition really makes any sense. The egg containing the first chicken would have had chicken DNA, so that seems the logical place to stop.
Reply:the chicken or else a monster might be in the center of the earth!`~`
Reply:There should have some chemical reactions to form an egg, which finally converted into a chicken.
Reply:chicken
Reply:niether, the chicken evolved from a different creature
Reply:Good question. But why can%26#039;t Jimmy ride a bicycle? Because he%26#039;s a fish. Go figure.
Reply:I wonder Yahoo! Answer allowed you with such question, asked by thousands at thousands times! Okay, let me see the answers. If i get something extraordinary, I%26#039;ll remain grateful to you.

p.s. Scientifically the EGG came first. I reserve my explanations.

p.s.2: I think Yahoo_Guru %26amp; Elliot answered semi-correctly. At least try to learn from them.
Reply:the egg

it was probably a mutation from a different species, and the mutant married into that species until you got the chicken
Reply:Little darlin....Bob Marley came first!!
Reply:God created chickens first, not eggs.
Reply:Ok lets do it this way...

1. Biblically (and literally) speaking: Adam was born a man, not a baby, nor a %26#039;tadpole%26#039;. Therefore they would go for the chicken. We need the chicken to put those eggs and warm them up right?

2. Evolutionary speaking: the first bird that evolved into a chicken must have first existed as embryo in an egg. That egg used to be an organism that suffered changes, and that organism used to be.... well, you guys know how it goes.

I%26#039;ll go for #2. Its personal, what can I say :)
